ASEAN Secretariat Job Vacancies

The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Secretariat is the nerve centre of ASEAN, a regional inter-governmental organisation founded in 1967, to promote peace and stability, sustained economic growth, shared prosperity and social progress. It comprises the ten countries of Southeast Asia.
The ASEAN Secretariat (ASEC) is looking for suitable candidates to fill the post of folliwing positions

Secretaries
Requirements
  • We are seeking qualified candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Secretarial Diploma (D-III) from reputable Secretarial Academy.
  • Minimum one year of experience in secretarial, clerical, and administrative support services.
  • Ability to organise data and routine correspondence is required.
General Qualifications
  • Good English language skills (written and oral).
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team in a multicultural environment.
  • Able to multi-task and willing to work irregular and long hours.
  • Knowledge on ISO 9001 : 2000 is an advantage.
  • Deadline: February 15, 2010
Remuneration and Benefits
  • Successful candidate will be offered the post with a probation period of six months and monthly salary starting from IDR 2,500,000.
Associate Officer HIV and AIDS
Qualifications and Experience
  • A Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Public Policy or Public Health, with 3 to 5 years experience in administering, coordinating and managing regional programmes/projects. Experience with HIV and AIDS issues is advantageous.
  • An excellent command of both spoken and written English.
  • Comprehensive computer skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Able to function effectively in a fast-paced, multi-national, multi-cultural environment.
  • Highly motivated and results oriented.

Contract and Remuneration
  • A one-year (12-month) assignment with work beginning tentatively from 1 March 2010 depending on when the candidate is able to take up the appointment. The Associate Officer, HIV and AIDS shall be paid of USD 2,200 per month.
Technical Officer for AANZFTA Support Unit
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, information technology and/or any other related social science discipline; Master’s degree is an advantage
  • Adequate knowledge in project management (including monitoring);
  • Extensive knowledge and experience on information data base management; experience on trade-related data management is an added advantage;
  • Knowledge on WTO, international trade, regional integration and market access;
  • Adequate exposure to meetings related to regional trade agreements;
  • Must have an excellent analytical, research, and presentation skills;
  • Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Must be computer proficient. Must have a working knowledge of computer software for data manipulation.
General Qualifications
  • Familiarity with diplomatic practices and protocols. Other required qualities are: computer literacy and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools; ability to multi-task, work long and irregular hours, and perform outside the usual job scope; ability to function effectively independently and as part of a team; and a willingness to travel frequently on short notice.

Programme Coordinator ASEC-TNF
Qualifications
  • A Masters degree or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
  • At least 3 years of professional experience with proven track record and exposure in government, private sector and/or international organisations. Experience in dealing with a wide spectrum of program development, coordination and management issues, particularly in the context of international/regional organisations such as ASEC.
  • Proven track record in developing, coordinating and managing complex development programs as well as in undertaking impact assessment.
  • Proven experience of leading a team in a development project or program context.
