Engagement Manager

Responsibilities:
- Department: Services
- Engagement Manager is responsible for closing Services sales and delivering projects of significant complexity, generally having total resource engaged at any point in time under 20 people (Microsoft services employees or Partners) directly involved in his/her engagements for 1 or more engagements. Engagements typically shorter duration (measured in days to weeks) and limited strategic impact for Microsoft. Responsible for all engagement oriented negotiations, proposals, including contractual, fiscal, and scheduling. Held accountable for customer satisfaction, Partner satisfaction, backlog for his/her projects, project profitability, employee satisfaction in his/her projects.
- Responsibilities:
- The Engagement Manager is responsible for decision making regarding closing services opportunities, and delivering engagements including, setting customer bill rate, statement of work/contractual obligations for engagements with some risk assumed by Microsoft, approving staffing of projects, performance management for personnel on engagements, as well as decision making regarding client/partner relationships. Need Services Leads involvement on issues around major discounts, and non standard contractual language or project financing.
- Responsible for service line or vertical client strategy. Responsible for defining service offerings. Will perform this role using MSF and MCF principles. Most projects may result in best practices to be leveraged throughout the practice. The Engagement Manager will likely be a thought leader regarding Service offerings, and project delivery processes.
- The Engagement Manager is responsible for communicating within the project team, Microsoft and the customer. Communicating with Internal and external groups including legal, sales, product development, partners, and product support. These communications will generally involve negotiations with customer, partner and Microsoft personnel. Communications with customer generally at VP to CxO level.
- The Engagement Manager is responsible for customer satisfaction, partner satisfaction for partners involved at his/her engagements, backlog for his/her engagements, project profitability, and employee satisfaction for his/her engagements. Additionally responsible for approving all customer invoices, and accounts receivable for managed engagements.
Requirements:
Only shortlisted candidate will be contacted. - Minimum 8 years of related experience, with strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, enterprise computing environments, and client/server technologies systems
- Possess at least 2-3 years of management/lead experience preferred
- Must have advanced business development and business management skills.
- Must have strong people management skills and be capable of leading a large staff.
- Should posess expert communication skills.
- Must have advanced engagement and project management skills with the ability to drive the engagement lifecycle.
- Requires advanced technical knowledge. Must be able to understand and articulate Microsoft technology strategy and vision to a variety of audiences.
- Should have advanced knowledge of Enterprise Services Frameworks.
